I don't think people really understand how valuable Will McClay is..
@Brian Drake Does it? How has he improved the team? Have they won anything? Seems to me they are the same team that they were when he started putting together the draft board. What can you possibly use to justify this great improvement under Will? Just claim they are way more talented?
@Gabe Smith dude that's 1 pick .. the good outweighs the bad by a mile.. dont be ignorant
Yeah without him we would have ended up with TJ Watt instead of Taco Charlton. Thanks, Will!
I do, Brother! 😉👍
Some of us know about Will McClay but a lot of America still thinks Jerry is the only one calling shots in Dallas
I think it’s really impressive that the Cowboys have such an outstanding Draft guru like Dane Brugler. And it’s obvious from Will’s reaction to seeing Dane that he respects Brugler’s work. 👍
🐐Will McClay was a DB/captain at Rice University from 1985-88 he started every game there and now he is the VP of Player Personnel for the Cowboys. He is one of the main reason's for their draft success. I hope he remains with the Cowboys for a very long time keep him at all costs!
It’s at these moments you move out of the way and just let McClay and Dane talk.
@Q BOS its all good. Love the show. Its hard to mediate with all the extra stuff going on around you guys.
Well said I wasn’t trying to be rude by the wrong two people are in the middle
In Will We Trust! 2 things you can trust when it comes to draft season - Will and Dane's work and evaluation on these players.
I agree Mazi Smith is the fit for us. Strength and nastiness is what we need everywhere but especially at DT
Smith along with Michigan other Edge more of 5 tech thou morris think last name.
Great GM. Id like to see him with TOTAL control over a team though. Id also like to see which picks, if any, were because of his opinions, and which were the Joneses.
Who was all in on Joseph, who was all in on Cee Dee? It would be fun to know.
The "Sectret GM" Will Mclay
@james hecht😂😂
The secret gm Will McClay, your poor English teacher
Will McClay is awesome. We got the draft part down. Now Jerry, can you work on the GM side for us fans? Puh-lease?
We need a DT and a CB 🙏🏽
We need a QB as well
Run stuffing DT and Goon MLB to stop run last year we was 22 in stopping the run. Your not winning a lombardi with 22 vs run. This defense is small and wears down like it did last 5 games last year. Re build o line draft 2 RB keep Defense off field.
Man the Tyler Scott interview on Dak, gotta luv it but Trey Palmer 🔥
Shout out to you brother! I’ve seen you on the live streams before. I make cowboys content too! 🔥🤞🏾
I agree with the comments will mcclay is the best at drafting thanks for your hard work and staff
The unofficial "GM" of the Cowboys.
Keep paying Will to keep him in Dallas.
He needs to draft speed at reciever. The days of Irvin & Harper are long over!!
Nobody in the organization is thinking about that when they are drafting WRs lol
@r3r16 ok, you think he'll be there? QBs may cause good players to drop as usual, but I doubt he makes it to 26 and I really don't want to give up picks to move up
@Philip Bolin naw zay flowers would be a fire draft pick
Worst draft WR class in least 5 years this not year to spend pick early. Day 3 Marvin Mins Oklahoma round 4 fine. Need fix Trenches O line DT MLB
Too many short receivers in this draft. I prefer finding one from trade or free agency. Speed isn't always the issue
Will n his team is great at what they do it's the Jones boy's that's bad at keeping it together long enough to win a superbowl like adding really good players to an already good team
Jerry needs to make this guy the GM and so he (Jerry) sit his ass down
What I do not understand is if the Cowboys "live by their draft" and develop by their draft, then why are they not able by the second or third year to identify and extend those players that have lived up to or exceeded their expectations??? The Cowboys do a great (sarcasm) job of negotiating contracts, unlike some other teams that seem to somehow find a way to sign their draft picks to extensions, quietly and without a fuss.
@Paul Smethers Then it is as we have known for years, it is dysfunctional in terms of building a roster. If this is the case, then the owner has no clue what it is going to take to build a championship (NFC or SB) roster, because he has kept the same GM for years and the GM is JUST as LOST, because he doesn't have the smarts to ensure that he and salary cap specialist are on the "same sheet of music". All this just means that the Cowboys remain a "good" team, but not "good enough" to get the Cowboys over the Divisional round. One should just call out the Jones for this, not that it will change anything, but at least let them know that regardless of what they may spout off to the press for the fans' consumption, the majority of us DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!
The Cowboys have two people who negotiate contracts: Jerry and Stephen. They have different styles and opinions on value - not player value, contract value.
Jerry is more likely to “gamble” that a player cannot stack good years. In that way, it’s a win-win because if he’s wrong, he pays more but keeps a great player.
Stephen is more apt to low ball players rather than reward them. It’s why contract negotiations seem bipolar and confusing because two are involved and one can overrule the other.
They do not value money like the rest of us. Everything is in terms of assets, valuations, Present Value, and Future Value all the while knowing they can manipulate and renegotiate terms.
@JJ I am not talking about a draft grade, but if you use that as a criterion, then one would think that by the second to third year, coaching staff and FO should know whether or not the player that they drafted met or exceeded their expectations. My point is that if the Cowboys use the "draft and develop" approach to roster building, then at some point there are some players that should be extended earlier rather than later.
Your draft is graded on the first contract.
David LaFleur not Matt in 1998.

@Gabriel Carrasco I don't need to know you. I know what you said.
You don't know what I think. You know what you feel.
Hooker won't get out of the 2nd is the point.
@Alexander Israel You don't even know me. Hooker is not as special as you think.
@Gabriel Carrasco you don't know football. That's next to irrelevant. And he won't get out of the second.
Bet on it
@Alexander Israel I don’t know if I agree or disagree but I like that you stood fast on your points and backed up why you feel that way.
@JJ Fanboys do this type of thing every year thinking they know where people are going to be drafted. You don't.
Hendon hooker will not get out of the second round.
It's time for the jones's to get out of the way and give Will the gm position he has earned and ensure we don't lose him to anyone else.
It's not going to happen so stop wasting your breath talking about it.
All this WR talk but Big Mike says he wants to run ball more so sign FA WR we need beef up o line don’t forget this Stelle and Badass last years of contract. Plus we need two draft 2 RB
McCarthy knows Dallas has to go farther in the playoffs he wants to determine his own fate calling plays not having Kellen Moore fail costing Mike his job plus maybe he can be Andy Reid except he doesn't have mahomes
Will Mcclay single handedly keeping us relevant. Don't have this man spilling his secrets on youtube 🤣
@Philip Bolin true , true.. I love the way the Cowboys draft. While some fans hate Jerry I do not, I just don't believe he is a GM. Can't wait to see what will McClay brews up this year.
Last year my pet cat was Tyler Smith and we landed him!
This year I would love to land Mazi Smith even though we are in a bad position at the moment , same as last year for landing Tyler which is why they got him so early in the draft.
@Philip BolinReggie Robinson, John Ridgeway, Taco Charlton, Trysten Hill were some bad draft picks but he has hit on alot of good players as well Cowboys are considered one of the best drafting teams in the NFL
@Rodney's Next Chapter fair enough, but I blame no individual. I think we've done a great job at drafting, mine was more a jab at fellow cowboy fans and their irrational hate towards Jerry
@Philip Bolinoh ok , no mistake drafts don't exist ever though. I agree will is damn good at this but I'm more of a realist than most cowboy fans I guess
Jerry is just a mouthpiece and NOT a GM !
Try blaming Stephen maybe
@Rodney's Next Chapter that's not my theory, that's that of the typical fan of this team. Will, great, Jerry garbage.
It should be mike McCarthy, Dan Quinn the coaching staff and all the scouts being able to finally do there jobs while jerry jones and his cap boy son go chill on the yacht for the rest of the offseason till the season starts and let them orchestrate & Turn this team into competitive winners to reach the main goal every year from now on and plz stay out of the way thats what your paying theses men for to do by letting them do there fucking jobs without the added handcuffed control for jerry and his son to keep getting in the way!!!!
Did you guys mean David Lafluer?
Mcclays method lol another one of Jerry's clowns
Where's BB? He and Dane would have made a much better show including Will.
BB is in Arizona covering Rangers spring training.

The draft show has gone woke. RIP
Don’t even talk about players!?!? Get y’all’s shit together
We will be dealing with over aged players cause of Covid year 2020 DIDINT count so we will be dealing with over aged players until 2026
@james hecht go play in Traffic Bud
End Wokeness today, for a better America 2morrow 😊
I’m going to be honest. If you guys are talking about the lady on the show then you are a hater. She knows her stuff. I can see if she was some bimbo.
@Zach Wright Please cite empirical data backing your claim, small fry.
Define woke.
