The 2022 Super Bowl featured KC & PHI. The seven (7) running backs on those teams were paid a total of $10.5M.
We just signed a guy to $10M who:
- is coming off a major injury, contrary to what was said in this d video
- ran for 1,007 yards in his ‘breakout’ season
- gained over 100 yards three (3) times over 18 games
- once in 18 games did he carry the ball more than 19 times
Tony Pollard is a timeshare, backup running back. And we just paid him $10M. Ironic on a day the Titans are looking to dump RB Derrick Henry because he makes too much.
Zeke has played hurt the last two years and has more left than people think , they cant use pollard like they used barber and run him into the ground in a seventeen game season

No, they can’t. Which is why I see them Drafting a kid like Tank Bigsby. He’s reminiscent of Marion “The Barbarian” Barber. A powerful runner who doesn’t run around Defenders, he runs OVER them! And I’d love to have that kid for 4 years! The only thing I’m not sure of is how good a blocker, like for blitz pickups, he is. But it’s doubtful ANY Back will be as good as Zeke is at that, because he’s the best I’ve ever seen!!! #DC4L

Pollard and Steele are staying, I should try to sign safety Wilson, let all other free agents go. A RB at the 3rd, 4rd round will perfectly replace Zeke's production at about 15 million cheaper..
There's no point in offering a paycut to Zeke if we already know the production, or lack there of, that we'll have with Zeke on the field. he's not going to get any better regardless how much you pay him. As sad as it may be, we need to release Zeke and move forward. Jerry hangs on to players too long past their prime.

@Devil Dog if it were a different position, like corner or wr, hey, you can take a back seat and we can find a role. But it's running back. So regardless of money, he's a progress stopper to finding the next guy. If your franchising Tony your saying he's not the next guy, that's fine, but where does the next guy get game reps with zeke on the team?

That’s why it makes so much sense for “journalists” to pick players for Pro Bowls, All-Star Games or HOF votes. They should be configured by former players and coaches (in other words, people who did it for a living!).

3.5 base pay for the year with another million in incentives if he stays healthy and another potential million if he gets like 750 yards.
If he’s just a short yard back up he’s gotta be cheap, but if he goes out there and turns it on and makes an impact he can take in another 2 to get to 5.5.
Otherwise cut him, this is ridiculous honestly Nate Newton is a two time super bowl winner and when he was too old and beat up and his time was up he got a handshake, a thank you and have a nice day.
Jerry is waaaay too personally involved in these decisions, a competent GM wouldn’t even be entertaining this.
Jerry’s a great owner. But as a GM, he’s the worst in the League. He hasn’t gotten us CLOSE to a Super Bowl since Jimmy left (and that ‘95 Chip belongs to Jimmy, even Jerry knows it).
