If you have a dynamic RB like TP is, or Zeke used to be, then the RB can be as big a weapon as a WR. Because those types of Backs can bust one to the House at any time. #DC4L

I agree with Nick draft one of these many great backs in the later rounds and split the carries. They should have negotiated saying we will preserve you as we have been. Keep it the sane style🥊

I totally agree with Nick...I love T.P., and honestly didn't want him back, but will support him 100% now that he's back. I don't think he's a pounder, more of a light, finessed quick striker that needs a heavy weight to set him up. I..m.o

I didn't know that All Pro's ... like Pollard.. Needed a "set up man". In fact I've never seen an All Pro that did.

    • Kenny 10

Agreed, he is not a RB that will be a high usage back he needs another big but quicker then Zeke RB to take at least half the carries

I agree with what has been said before, Pollard is a weapon, not just a running back. If used as a weapon 10.1 million is a good deal. But if you use him like you did Zeke in his first 3 years Pollard will not be as effective. Need to draft a young back that can do Zekes early role and use Pollard like he was this year.

And I believe that’s what the Cowboys think, too.

  • Bubba J

The best idea for an offense is one that has players that make the opposing DC, think. You need to run the ball. You need a QB that can stretch the defense down field. You need to have possession receivers to move the chains. No DC is ever scared of Dak. He doesn’t have a pro arm and finally, they’re limiting his reads to correct his time to hold the ball. Hopefully that’ll make the OL better and the run game, as long as we go deep at least 3 times with success.

Be better off asking him on Twitter, he won't answer on here. Aka I highly, highly doubt he ever looks at any comments on the Cowboys' PLclip channel lol. Also, even if he did, he can't really talk about players on other teams like that. Notice the part in the show he said Derrick Henry and his boss said '' Nope, nope, we're not going to talk about him '' (To avoid any tampering shenanigans it's safer that way since they are employed by the team)

What makes you think Pollard is going to give 100 percent on a one year deal and risk another injury before gettingone more contract?

    • Chocolatetown Forever
      Chocolatetown Forever 16 dni temu

No it wont lol. Nobody is paying Tony more than 10 million per. Had the franchise tag not been an option, hes probably hitting the open market, but I promise you hes not going to get MORE than the average of the top 5 paid RBs in the league.
Had we offered him a multi year deal at 10 million a season, Tony would have signed within minutes. Id bet we offered him 7-8, and thats why we are where we are today with the tag.

    • Arc DesTriumph

Pollard is All Pro ... a starter. So the runningbacks... who get less touches in the Pass/Centered NFL as opposed to the run centered NFL of the past ... can't handle their jobs w/out getting hurt? Too much estrogen being passed around in Frisco then. Puss it up a little more.

    • JJ
      JJ 16 dni temu

      He's not.

    • Chocolatetown Forever
Chocolatetown Forever 16 dni temu +1

@DrizzyNot so sure about that. Keep in mind, the injury he had against San Fran would have happened to ANY back. These people that say I told you so, when Tony went down, are clueless. The fact is Tony has been VERY durable since being here. More durable than Zeke, who nobody says has a body type to worry about injury.
I like the tag. Hate to be mean, but lets work Tony as much as possible. If he doesnt get hurt, youll get the 10 mill in production with full time carries. If he does get hurt, im sorry, but we can move on next offseason, with hopefully less holes to fill in the draft than this one.

    • Drizzy

I'd make Pollard play on the franchise tag, then move on next year. I'd also move on from Zeke altogether, I appreciate what he did but it's time to let him go. Davis showed promise last year so let's ride with Pollard, Davis, and a RB in the draft.

I dont think many teams do that. Unless its a sure fire young talent that you know youre not moving on from anytime soon, youre probably going to wait until the offseason to renegotiate. I think Jerry loves Tony, but I dont think hes opposed to letting him walk without a long term deal. I think he knows we are in a perfect storm though, with the cupboards bare on skill position talent, and ESPECIALLY at the RB position if he moves on from Zeke.
We also have holes to fill in this draft, and I think any pressure you can alleviate by keeping a talent like Tony, with no long term committment, helps our flexibility in the draft or free agency.

  • Vincent Johnson

Why in the world did we tag Pollard? His injury is significant. It’s not just bones. It’s tendons, that don’t regenerate like ligaments. Ligament damage too. Should’ve let him go to FA.

RB is the cheapest tag, because if we draft Bijan at 26, It costs like $3mil for 2023. If we draft a rb or 2 round 3 or later it's like a mil/year. So cheap.

  • Goldeye

I will like to know how many Tags have the Cowboys put on injured players that worked out long term 🤔 this organization just waste money n talent over the years when they could have brought n better players then they blame the player's for taking more money when they could have signed them for cheaper the season before thier contracts was up= 30 years of failing to put it all together n the fans gets upset with the players

  • CA W
    CA W 16 dni temu +1

TE draft --- I am inherently against drafting a TE high, but some of these guys appear special // heard Cavanaugh talking about Darnell Washington and comparing him to Gronk. Knowing what he was, would you draft a Gronk clone at 26? 🤔

    • Arc DesTriumph
      Arc DesTriumph 15 dni temu

@Chocolatetown Forever Schultz is not All Pro .. and carried the franchies tag last yr at $10/mil yr.. He's priced himself out of a job. There are 3 monster TE's in this year's draft .. Baby Gronk/Michael Mayer from Notre Dame, Dalton Kincaid from Utah, and 6ft 7in 275lb Darnell Washington from Georgia. What Dak needs is to get the Fxxxking ball out of his hand like a regular pro in 3-4 secs.. 2 primary receivers max and an outlet if trouble comes. The 10 second reads and being the NFL interception leader are a BS direction to travel.

    • Chocolatetown Forever
      Chocolatetown Forever 15 dni temu

@Arc DesTriumph Love or hate, we have Dak, and probably will beyond this contract. He clearly feels comfortable throwing to the TE. It felt like the last half of 2021 he only threw to the TE, and in the Bucs game he targeted Shultz a ton.
I kinda like the duo we have at TE if he leaves. They both seem more athletic and I think can make up the 900 yards of offense that Shultz gave us. Are they good blockers? Idk. Im only drafting TE early if hes A SPECIMEN. I really want to beef up the O line in rounds one or two, and corner with the other.

    • Arc DesTriumph
Arc DesTriumph 16 dni temu +1

Dallas front office needs to work hard during free agency.... Get help at Cornerback n Off Line- that would make Draft time much easier to navigate.. and you could go after those TE's because your other bases were covered.

Paying a RB 10.1 million after an injury. Let both RBs walk and bring in two new RBs. No team will pay Pollard or Zeke more than 5 or 6 million.

    • Arc DesTriumph
      Arc DesTriumph 16 dni temu

Pollard was All Pro... and a breakaway threat in the NFL. That's not offered at your local 7-11. Broken legs aren't typically complicated injuries. Malik Davis isnt on Jahmyr Gibbs or Tyjae Spears level. Plenty of options at RB in this upcoming draft that played much better than Malik Davis in college

    • Arc DesTriumph
      Arc DesTriumph 16 dni temu

@LAMAR Agree ... Bigsby from Auburn looks strong... All SEC RB as a Freshman and a breakaway threat like Pollard. Charbonnet from UCLA is a big back... 220lbs but cuts well- an athlete not a moose. Would be a good pounder to pair w Pollard. Lots of good draftees out there to bring in... The key to getting some of these guys is filling holes w some free agents before draft day.. I'd prefer some veteran talent at Cornerback.. I prefer places like RB and Linebacker to bring in fresh young college guys.

    • LAMAR
      LAMAR 16 dni temu

@Arc DesTriumphI will agree Davis should of got some carries after Pollards injury. Pollard was drafted in the 4th round and Davis went undrafted that doesnt mean he is a bad player though. I like Davis but thats not stopping me from drafting a RB like Jahmyr Gibbs who has more burst and star potential. Gibbs has better college film than Pollard and Davis

    • Arc DesTriumph
      Arc DesTriumph 16 dni temu

That may be true... but not playing Davis when Pollard got hurt was criminal. Davis played as a Freshman at Florida (SEC)... Running against top level talent is what he's done. Davis faced better talent in the SEC than Pollard did at Memphis.

Agreed bro. If hes healthy, Pollard will get 1300 and double digit TDs next year, even if we dont improve on the O line. It sickens me how people undersell him. Dude is a playmaker at THE HIGHEST LEVEL. These kids coming out of the draft, have made plays in college, where three schools in the nation play legit D, and the rest suck.
You let Cooper walk, looks like Shultz as well. Who the F do you have left as a playmaker if you let Pollard walk as well. Everyone is like oh we can just fill those needs in the draft, as if thats so easy lol. Its a joke. As long as you move on from Zeke post June 1st, Tony at 10 million is FINE. You then play it out, and have cap freedom to make any decision you want on him longterm.

@Warren Primas You wouldn’t be emotionally attacking me in my DMs over my simple opinion if you “felt nothing” lol.
Control your feelings, and handle your emotions.
If my words can create that type of hysterical reaction out of you, that should be concerning.

I can’t watch or listen when BB is on. Man let the host get his thought out before you sit up here and try to talk over someone. He’s like a kid at school too eager to answer the teachers question with his hand all up, almost out of of his chair like pick me.

Then don't listen. Most of us love BB.
