McCarthy is about running the ball in certain situations to control the clock and timeouts!
Checking back in for the first time this year and gotta say Brian and Nick are gold together 🤘
If you have a dynamic RB like TP is, or Zeke used to be, then the RB can be as big a weapon as a WR. Because those types of Backs can bust one to the House at any time. #DC4L
I agree with Nick draft one of these many great backs in the later rounds and split the carries. They should have negotiated saying we will preserve you as we have been. Keep it the sane style🥊
draft 2. Tyjae Spears 3rd or 4th rd. Pitt kid, Kenny Mac, Evans, Kendre Miller, etc day 3
I totally agree with Nick...I love T.P., and honestly didn't want him back, but will support him 100% now that he's back. I don't think he's a pounder, more of a light, finessed quick striker that needs a heavy weight to set him up. I..m.o
I didn't know that All Pro's ... like Pollard.. Needed a "set up man". In fact I've never seen an All Pro that did.
Agreed, he is not a RB that will be a high usage back he needs another big but quicker then Zeke RB to take at least half the carries
When shulltz couldn't get two feet in for a catch he should just kept running all the way back to Dallas and pack.
I agree he played so poorly vs the 49ers I cant forget it. Time to move on from him
Have ya seen Dak’s athleticism after his recovery?
Josh Jacobs would be AMAZING
Way too much money for a RB.
I agree with what has been said before, Pollard is a weapon, not just a running back. If used as a weapon 10.1 million is a good deal. But if you use him like you did Zeke in his first 3 years Pollard will not be as effective. Need to draft a young back that can do Zekes early role and use Pollard like he was this year.
And I believe that’s what the Cowboys think, too.
The best idea for an offense is one that has players that make the opposing DC, think. You need to run the ball. You need a QB that can stretch the defense down field. You need to have possession receivers to move the chains. No DC is ever scared of Dak. He doesn’t have a pro arm and finally, they’re limiting his reads to correct his time to hold the ball. Hopefully that’ll make the OL better and the run game, as long as we go deep at least 3 times with success.
Now we’ve got TP, my two priorities would be Wilson, and LVE.
Brian, curious if you’ve heard any rumors that Broncos are shopping Courtland Sutton? If so, an option for the Cowboys?
Be better off asking him on Twitter, he won't answer on here. Aka I highly, highly doubt he ever looks at any comments on the Cowboys' PLclip channel lol. Also, even if he did, he can't really talk about players on other teams like that. Notice the part in the show he said Derrick Henry and his boss said '' Nope, nope, we're not going to talk about him '' (To avoid any tampering shenanigans it's safer that way since they are employed by the team)
Great show guys/gal.
Go COWBOYS FOR LIFE, The Break is my favorite show 💙 love you all
You love a losing team too.
Lots to chat about today. Let's go!
Oohhh thats a close one amber ! Nice recover
Her Spanish accent got her there. lol
i was kinda not fully paying attention and then I was like wtf did she just say 😂
My ears perked up real quick
That would have been crazzzy 😂
I would’ve moved on from Pollard and Zeke. Draft two RBs and bring in other good FAs
@mcweese1 u only got so long to maximize ur value annnndddd he’s a Rb.. very productive at that with less touches.. we didn’t even run Rb screens with Kellen Moore cmon man
What makes you think Pollard is going to give 100 percent on a one year deal and risk another injury before gettingone more contract?
I would move on from Zeke and Pollard. I would have put the tag on Donovan Wilson.
Now he is on the tag a new deal will have to be larger then the tag number going forward in a new contract. Not worth it!💯
No it wont lol. Nobody is paying Tony more than 10 million per. Had the franchise tag not been an option, hes probably hitting the open market, but I promise you hes not going to get MORE than the average of the top 5 paid RBs in the league.
Had we offered him a multi year deal at 10 million a season, Tony would have signed within minutes. Id bet we offered him 7-8, and thats why we are where we are today with the tag.
Did Nick really say he doesn’t think Pollard isn’t a starter?😂
Pollard is All Pro ... a starter. So the runningbacks... who get less touches in the Pass/Centered NFL as opposed to the run centered NFL of the past ... can't handle their jobs w/out getting hurt? Too much estrogen being passed around in Frisco then. Puss it up a little more.
@DrizzyNot so sure about that. Keep in mind, the injury he had against San Fran would have happened to ANY back. These people that say I told you so, when Tony went down, are clueless. The fact is Tony has been VERY durable since being here. More durable than Zeke, who nobody says has a body type to worry about injury.
I like the tag. Hate to be mean, but lets work Tony as much as possible. If he doesnt get hurt, youll get the 10 mill in production with full time carries. If he does get hurt, im sorry, but we can move on next offseason, with hopefully less holes to fill in the draft than this one.
From carriers perspective he is not! 22-28 touches will get him hurt guaranteed
They should keep Pollard he is a good running back. Zeke needs to go.
Can’t see a TE in first Ferguson and Hendershot are gonna be fine
Derrick Henry would be a good running back to have a threat to defenses
@Ronald Richardsonexactly, this isn't madden
cost to much peace
IF McGovern stays and Steele is healthy, the dream scenario would be Tyron as swing Tackle at 1/2 his current price for this year. Would he take the 50% cut 🤷♂ Dunno but otherwise the lineup gets complicated
Stop paying non productive guys... How about that? And stop paying B level players like they are "elite NFL'ers.. best in the biz" when they aren't. The more your lockeroom understands "production pays" .... the more you get production.
Keep pollard only and get Henry to alternate but this is according to how much money Dallas has to spend on running backs I am just saying
HAM-bar is clearly the star of the engrish-speaking intrawebs here.
I'd make Pollard play on the franchise tag, then move on next year. I'd also move on from Zeke altogether, I appreciate what he did but it's time to let him go. Davis showed promise last year so let's ride with Pollard, Davis, and a RB in the draft.
@Cowboys 4 Life did they at least do the non-exclusive to save themselves some $
They should have just cut Pollard and if no team picks him up then bring him back at a fair price but he should be replaced by Malik Davis and bring in another beefy back that can pick up tough yards and be the hammer that softens defenses
I feel like our FO is creating the excuses by franchising him. Then they'll say we had to sign him to a multiyear contract to bring his 2023 cap number down.
That's why it's baffling Davis didn't get a carry vs SF.
Exactly ... I've been looking to unload Zeke for years. Davis reads his blocks very well, solid runner, SEC seasoned guy- Give him the ball and let him rip.
Otherwise, they’ll rush 4 on passing downs, cause they ain’t scared Dak will make them pay or they stack 9 in the box on running downs…sound familiar?
I literally fast forward when ambar talks
Once the tag has been set have y’all ever seen the cowboys negotiate out of the tag 🤔 I don’t remember it happening.
I dont think many teams do that. Unless its a sure fire young talent that you know youre not moving on from anytime soon, youre probably going to wait until the offseason to renegotiate. I think Jerry loves Tony, but I dont think hes opposed to letting him walk without a long term deal. I think he knows we are in a perfect storm though, with the cupboards bare on skill position talent, and ESPECIALLY at the RB position if he moves on from Zeke.
We also have holes to fill in this draft, and I think any pressure you can alleviate by keeping a talent like Tony, with no long term committment, helps our flexibility in the draft or free agency.
Brian makes keen points on McCarthy, so that makes me think McCarthy is going after OL, TE deep threat WR all to run the ball BETTER.
Zeke is NOT taking a steep pay cut,,,he’s out
Washington solves both issues. If the TE thing falls through bulk him up to play OT.
Agree with Bryan. Run the ball better. No stupid jet sweeps on 3rd and 1. Run Zeke's runs with a better rb, even if it's Malik Davis.
No one no one knows Mike McCarthy like Mr crusty.
They are going to draft demarvion Overshown and make Him izzy and bell compete for dono position
I’m so tired of people trying to say what Mike was saying. Basically I think he was saying some of the decisions to pass should have been a run IE less picks at that moment . He was saying bad play calling 🥊
Jeeeeery Boy wanted Kellen to be his next Happy/Clappy Jason Garrett. Lol ... Glad Moore is gone.
Tony also broke more tackles than Zeke fyi
And also bring in a bruiser type back that can crush it on 1st and 2nd downs then put Polkard in to break one
Tony's vision is sharper than Zekes this is why he's getting up field better than Zeke and I think he can take on the full load 22-23 carries maybe a game but Pollard gets it done
Take Robinson if he makes it to 26 if not bring in a veteran guy to take share snaps with pollard
Tank Bigsby from Auburn would be fine.... or Charbonett from UCLA. Plenty of RB talent out there. Bigsby is a breakway threat.. always nice. Charbonett is a 220 Lb guy with good skills.
Why in the world did we tag Pollard? His injury is significant. It’s not just bones. It’s tendons, that don’t regenerate like ligaments. Ligament damage too. Should’ve let him go to FA.
I like Shultz, but you never know when he going to fumble the ball, when he takes a hard hit. And he has not developed into a above average blocker.
He was never a 10/mil year guy. Hendershot dropped alot of balls last preseason- that crap doesn't fly in High School much less the pros.
I want Bijan Robinson but I’ll take Jahmyr Gibbs 1 st round.
Tank Bigsby from Auburn... all SEC as a Freshman, breakaway threat. He'd smoke anything Zeke ever did.
Zeke breaks no one down.pollard was fine in games by himself that's ignorant
RB is the cheapest tag, because if we draft Bijan at 26, It costs like $3mil for 2023. If we draft a rb or 2 round 3 or later it's like a mil/year. So cheap.
I will like to know how many Tags have the Cowboys put on injured players that worked out long term 🤔 this organization just waste money n talent over the years when they could have brought n better players then they blame the player's for taking more money when they could have signed them for cheaper the season before thier contracts was up= 30 years of failing to put it all together n the fans gets upset with the players
TE draft --- I am inherently against drafting a TE high, but some of these guys appear special // heard Cavanaugh talking about Darnell Washington and comparing him to Gronk. Knowing what he was, would you draft a Gronk clone at 26? 🤔
@Chocolatetown Forever Schultz is not All Pro .. and carried the franchies tag last yr at $10/mil yr.. He's priced himself out of a job. There are 3 monster TE's in this year's draft .. Baby Gronk/Michael Mayer from Notre Dame, Dalton Kincaid from Utah, and 6ft 7in 275lb Darnell Washington from Georgia. What Dak needs is to get the Fxxxking ball out of his hand like a regular pro in 3-4 secs.. 2 primary receivers max and an outlet if trouble comes. The 10 second reads and being the NFL interception leader are a BS direction to travel.
@Arc DesTriumph Love or hate, we have Dak, and probably will beyond this contract. He clearly feels comfortable throwing to the TE. It felt like the last half of 2021 he only threw to the TE, and in the Bucs game he targeted Shultz a ton.
I kinda like the duo we have at TE if he leaves. They both seem more athletic and I think can make up the 900 yards of offense that Shultz gave us. Are they good blockers? Idk. Im only drafting TE early if hes A SPECIMEN. I really want to beef up the O line in rounds one or two, and corner with the other.
Dallas front office needs to work hard during free agency.... Get help at Cornerback n Off Line- that would make Draft time much easier to navigate.. and you could go after those TE's because your other bases were covered.
@Chocolatetown Forever It's not about splashes. But this team does nothing in fa. Good teams still sign and trade. We don't. We do too much to keep our guys and don't scout beyond their own team.
MM saying run the ball more waste more time can’t go 3 n out and have the tired D go back in after 3 min of rest
Cooper rush should be resigned since he did saved the cowboys season while dak was recovering from a thumb injury.
Paying a RB 10.1 million after an injury. Let both RBs walk and bring in two new RBs. No team will pay Pollard or Zeke more than 5 or 6 million.
Pollard was All Pro... and a breakaway threat in the NFL. That's not offered at your local 7-11. Broken legs aren't typically complicated injuries. Jourdan Lewis... on the other hand.. has a Lis Franc injury. The bones of the foot are complicated. Lis Franc injuries crippled many WW1 cavalry officers for life.
Kinda too late for that 👀
I love this show, but Ambar needs to go, it makes me want to forward her part every time nice girl just don’t think this fits her.
Malik Davis isnt on Jahmyr Gibbs or Tyjae Spears level. Plenty of options at RB in this upcoming draft that played much better than Malik Davis in college
@LAMAR Agree ... Bigsby from Auburn looks strong... All SEC RB as a Freshman and a breakaway threat like Pollard. Charbonnet from UCLA is a big back... 220lbs but cuts well- an athlete not a moose. Would be a good pounder to pair w Pollard. Lots of good draftees out there to bring in... The key to getting some of these guys is filling holes w some free agents before draft day.. I'd prefer some veteran talent at Cornerback.. I prefer places like RB and Linebacker to bring in fresh young college guys.
@Arc DesTriumphI will agree Davis should of got some carries after Pollards injury. Pollard was drafted in the 4th round and Davis went undrafted that doesnt mean he is a bad player though. I like Davis but thats not stopping me from drafting a RB like Jahmyr Gibbs who has more burst and star potential. Gibbs has better college film than Pollard and Davis
That may be true... but not playing Davis when Pollard got hurt was criminal. Davis played as a Freshman at Florida (SEC)... Running against top level talent is what he's done. Davis faced better talent in the SEC than Pollard did at Memphis.
Mannnn nick ain’t no rookie Rb starting over Pollard UNLESS Pollard get injured again….. in general that’s all
Agreed bro. If hes healthy, Pollard will get 1300 and double digit TDs next year, even if we dont improve on the O line. It sickens me how people undersell him. Dude is a playmaker at THE HIGHEST LEVEL. These kids coming out of the draft, have made plays in college, where three schools in the nation play legit D, and the rest suck.
You let Cooper walk, looks like Shultz as well. Who the F do you have left as a playmaker if you let Pollard walk as well. Everyone is like oh we can just fill those needs in the draft, as if thats so easy lol. Its a joke. As long as you move on from Zeke post June 1st, Tony at 10 million is FINE. You then play it out, and have cap freedom to make any decision you want on him longterm.
Zeke working out financially is in no way the problem. At ANY price, Zeke is a liability. Both Nick and Ambar act like $$$ are the problem. He could pay the Cowboys to play here and I wouldn't want him.
Exactly... I was done w Zeke years ago. He should have been left in Cabo.
I'm putting Pollard in the slot as I'm drafting a running back and I'm using Malik Davis that running back and I'm doing everything I can to offer seat enough money to stay
Wow what a statement
Pollard stays as RB ... but I'm moving Diggs to strong side cornerback. And picking up 2 solid healthy veteran CB's in free agency. Davis will play and move to #2 slot...
That's why you're not a coach.
My friend, Pollard made the pro bowl as a RB, draft or pick up a productive RB (because Pollard isn’t an every down back) draft another OL and for God’s sake get a deep threat WR to keep 8 out of the box.
I don't get it keep zeke let tony walk zeke take a pay cut now your back field is under ten million this smart keep Shultz
When Ambar talks, that’s when I use the fast forward feature
Absolutely, ff that nonsense!
And when you post that's when most people scroll past by.
3:40 did amber say the n word 😂🙄
Lol no she was trying to pronounce it in Spanish.
Better run the ball a lot when you have Dak as QB.
Just about every QB needs a running game didn’t u watch the Super Bowl great as Patrick is it was set up by the run game Patrick didn’t throw over 200 yards, why do think the Bills r looking for a running back with that so called elite QB they have so it’s just not Dak🤔
Cowboys should draft Hender Hooker let ty smith zeke and pollard draft and get cheaper backs restructure Zack Martin to free up cap space get a dominant left guard NFC championship to Super Bowl
I can't believe u said NFC championship to Superbowl did u bump your head into the wall 😳 maybe u forgot Dak is the QB that u blame for all the Cowboys failures for the last 30 years 🤔
@JJ actually that was a typo meant let
Ambers correct, Pollard isn’t an every down back. Never has been.
Buy the Cowboys, then close them down for good.
Nick always just looks so lazy and slouched over. He makes me tired just watching him. He should only do radio.
Tony Pollard had more yards after contact than Zeke stop the bs. I'm not Pro Pollard but be fair.
@Benjamin Garza what's your points? My point was Pollard is better at yards after contact. Zeke is nowhere near as good as Pollard. Sad but true.
How many times did Pollard get the ball on one and two yards for a first down. NONE! That is one reasons Zeke numbers are skewed. Pollard has not even finished the last two seasons with only 40% of the carries
She Almost Said The N Word
No she did not she just doesn't pronounce words well sometimes
White boy who doesn't understand Spanish accents chimes in.
Why is she still on this show? 😂
@JJ why you read his comment?
It's simple she makes all the money for Jerry with the Spanish fans 🗣️ pretty sure you already knew that!
Why do you still listen?
Tired of hearing keeping or bringing in more players to help Dak! When is he going to help himself 😡
You’re not real
I'm sorry but Ambar brings literally nothing to this show.
@Warren Primas You wouldn’t be emotionally attacking me in my DMs over my simple opinion if you “felt nothing” lol.
Control your feelings, and handle your emotions.
If my words can create that type of hysterical reaction out of you, that should be concerning.
@Yo Suh I feel nothing, sir/ma'am/ thing or whatever.
@Warren Primas Been watching shows once the first show ever. I can deal with her but we can have an opinion
@Ms. Felony Strutter Ma'am my advice to you is don't watch the show!
I can’t watch or listen when BB is on. Man let the host get his thought out before you sit up here and try to talk over someone. He’s like a kid at school too eager to answer the teachers question with his hand all up, almost out of of his chair like pick me.
Then don't listen. Most of us love BB.
I still think Amber is better then Isha! Any day!!
Not saying much either way. If neither had breasts, they wouldnt be on any sports talk show, period. Its absurd.
They still need a RB drfat.I one I they should grab Gibbs he can do everything .I don't know about Pollard. HE might make to 17 games😇🤠🥱👍✋️💯
